Writing Community Re-Launch Celebration – Story Dam

You will find not much has changed around here. We, the four of us now working to help keep this writing community going, wanted everyone to feel as comfortable about this transition as possible. Therefore, for now, we are keeping most things the same. As time passes you will see wonderful little changes to enhance the community.

Nicole will be doing a once a week post helping you discover what online tools are important for writers and which ones aren’t. I am personally looking forward to that. Susan is our tech support and will be helping to keep this website running smoothly so that the rest of us can focus on what is most important, writing. Tui is the wonderful, supportive person that every writer loves to have in their corner, I am sure she will be sharing her special wisdom on how we can better support each other. I, Morgan, will be helping to keep the prompts going every week and support you in your writing efforts.

You can learn more about the four of us from our bios and by checking out our blogs. I am sure you will find them each uniquely different. Tui has a traveling blog, Mental Mosaic. I love all of her pictures and wonderful stories that she weaves into her travels. She inspires me every time I read her blog. Either I want to go where ever she is talking about or she inspires me to write something of my own. Check out her blog and I am sure you will leave feeling inspired as well.

Susan’s blog is Cirque Du Mot which in her words from her website; “What is Cirquedumot? Cirquedumot translates approximately to “Circus of the Word”.  I’ll let you in on the joke, it is all about the media circus that surrounds us. You see, the prize of the big top is to become the greatest show on earth. The one everyone wants to see. The one on everyone’s lips.” She shares tips, amazing interviews and so much more for social media and beyond. I always learn something new when I visit her site. Check out her blog and come away with knowledge you can put to use immediately.

Nicole’s blog, Rivera Runs Through it, shares her great love of helping others through blogging tips, creative writing and discussion, entertainment and reviews, and her fanaticism with Converse sneakers, Harry Potter, Mathematics, teaching and comic con. Nicole also has an interview series called Book Love. You will find that she loves exploring the world around her and then turning around and sharing it with others.

That leaves me and my blog, A Writer’s Universe – Books, Blogs and Banter. It isn’t my first blog or one that I have been working on for very long. I decided at the beginning of this year that I was going to delve into my writing and this was going to be the year, THE YEAR, do or die with my writing. I also am one that loves to share and help others on my journey. You will find my explorations into writing and the various ways that I  inspire others (through prompts, tips and meanderings) to be the writer they were meant to be.

We look forward to connecting and getting to know you better on this wonderful journey of writing. Stay tuned for the writing prompt for the week later today.

  1. Just wanted to say Hi, I joined story dam about 3 days before the reshuffle and haven’t even been online for long so I may well just wander around looking confused for a while 😀

    • Hi Victoria, Welcome and no worries. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. We are here to help you on your writing journey. Thank you for stopping by!

    • I am new to the community as well Victoria. I had only started following the community two weeks prior to the shuffle. I am grateful that Morgan invited me on to the team and I hope to make this an awesome experience for both of us! Maybe we can help each other.

    • Hey Victoria,
Like you and Susan, I am fairly new to the StoryDam community, myself. However, from my brief time here – I am LOVING IT! Enjoy the journey and know you are not alone!
      Nicole 🙂
