How are you doing now that we are in the month of November? Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? I am and it has me in a tizzy, more like a deer in headlights really. Sitting there at the computer looking at the blank screen saying, “I’m not ready, I’m not ready.” But ready or not here it is once again. So far I have written my word quota each day, not sure how much will be usable but at least I keep writing. Though the writing prompt doesn’t have anything to do with NaNoWriMo, you may be able to use the inspiration for your story. I often go searching through photos to find my inspiration and when I saw a picture of a spider I realized that poison would be a great prompt for a story.
Make a list of all the different ways that you can use poison in your story. Pick one or two and write for 30 minutes. This topic brings up so many variables, so many different ways in which you can use it in your stories. The possibilities are endless.
Did you or someone you know ever get bit by a poisonous spider? Or… write about the type of poison that eats away at a relationship? Do you have just such a story?
If you don’t like writing your stories on your blog this is another way that you can participate in our weekly challenges. Tell us what the word poison means to you. It could be what you think is poisoning society to what you think of spiders.
