What is the April A to Z Blog Challenge?

The A to Z Challenge is just around the corner. Are you ready? Every April, bloggers from all over the world participate in the April A to Z blog challenge, and you can too. It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great way to meet other bloggers. To play along, all you do is make a blog post for each letter of the alphabet during April, then use the blog hop linky to visit as many other bloggers as you can. Check it out!

What is the A to Z Theme Reveal?

Last year, the A to Z Theme Reveal was created to rev up interest before the challenge started. This year, the reveal is hosted by Vidya Sury, Anna Tan, Csenge Zalka, Samantha Redstreake Geary, and Guilie Castillo. The A to Z Theme Reveal a great way to mix and mingle, make new friends, and gain inspiration if you aren’t quite sure what you want to write about. Plus, if someone’s theme appeals to you, you are more likely to return for their April posts.

Use Twitter to Keep Up with A to Z

If you are on Twitter, keep an eye on the #AZChat, #atozchallenge, and – of course – the #StoryDam hashtags. These tags are a great way to meet other bloggers taking part in the A to Z blog challenge. You are also invited to come to #StoryDam chat, which is every Thursday night rain or shine, from 8-9 p.m. EST. Also, be sure to follow the @StoryDam Twitter account. We will follow you back!

The StoryDam A to Z Theme is…

Although we are each participating on our personal blogs, the members of the Story Dam crew have decided (at the very last minute!) to participate in the A to Z blog challenge right here at the Story Dam website, as well. The theme we came up with is… wait for it…OK, here you go:

Writing tips, Inspiration, and Motivation

Why, you ask? Because we are a friendly writing community and that’s what we specialize in around here!

What are A to Z Challenge bloggers writing about?

  1. It’s a theme that never really grows old, does it? Found you through the theme reveal blog hop. Didn’t actually know about it until this morning; wasn’t sure I even wanted to pick one theme and stick to it all month. Then, I had an epiphany…

Hah! And that became my theme. Well, not exactly.

  2. Hallo, Hallo fellow A2Z’er! 🙂

I had a bit of a “late, late” like the Rabbit of Alice in Wonderland start to the A to Z Reveal today! Thankfully, everyone has been posting their Reveal posts to Twitter, and thereby, I am able to visit & hop! 🙂

Posts about writing & inspiring others whilst motivating them to find their creativity is quite the wicked theme if you ask me! I was so happy you sent me a reminder for #StoryDam yesterday, but I had it in my head that it was on *Friday!* not *Thursday!* and before I could fix that mishap, the hour elapsed! 🙁 Therefore, I have a post-it note telling me its NEXT THURSDAY! Goodness. I write notes and then, I misplace the note telling me where to go to chat with writers! Oy. Forgive me!? I do love your chat interface!

Have a wicked sweet time blogging!
    I’m quite excited myself! 🙂
    I’m a first timer btw!

Jorie A to Z Reveal Post

    • Thanks Jori, this is the first year we are participating on StoryDam even though all of the team here has participated on their own blogs. We’re looking forward to inspiring and motivating others!

Hope to see you in the StoryDam chat this coming Thursday.

    • Hallo Patricia Lynne & Ms. Dragonwillow!

🙂 I wasn’t sure who was ‘behind’ #StoryDam, and so this is quite keen seeing that its the people I have been getting to know not only through the #StoryDam Chat but the A to Z Challenge as well! I’ll have to put my ‘thinking cap’ on to sort out which topics to discuss, but maybe we could talk about what we love about stories & what stories give back to us when we find characters & scenes which resonate with us!? I love reading because of the exploration of stories and the journey we take towards meeting the characters & living through those moments of time which are represented!

Yes! Thursday! I do have it written down properly now! I originally had it marked as Thursday, but the ‘don’t forget us’ tweet somehow had me thinking it was Friday this week rather than Thursday! Not your fault — I misread it! :O

      Thanks for the replies! 🙂

      • Hi Jorie, There are five of us behind the scenes here at StoryDam, Tui Snider, Nicole Rivera, Morgan Dragonwillow (me), Patricia Lynne, and Brett Jonas.

Glad you have the timing of the StoryDam chat sorted out, we look forward to seeing you there!

  3. Great topic for the A to Z; it’s always so interesting to hear other writers tips on writing or finding inspiration and we all know how important motivation can be. I look forward to seeing your posts.

    • When it comes to inspiration and motivation, you never know what is going to spark someone’s words to wiggle free and land on the page. All one can do is keep on sharing what works for them and hope that those that need those words will find them. Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you in the future!
