What is April A to Z?

Every April, bloggers from all over the world participate in the April A to Z blog challenge, and you can too. It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great way to meet other bloggers.

To play along, all you do is make a blog post for each letter of the alphabet during April, then visit as many other bloggers as you can. For the 4th year in a row, the StoryDam’s theme is writing and inspiration from our Story Dam community. We hope you enjoy them!

S is for Stand Still

Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree of a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest know
Where you are. You must let it find you.

Guest bio: This A to Z Blog Challenge post was written by #StoryDam chat and writing community member, Rose Ketring. From Rose: “Each collage and painting contains my thoughts, poetry and emotions that whisper prayers. A candle is lit as my hands dip into color and spread across the page in meditation. Shapes gather and move as if they were dancing. Some seem to spring fully formed from my hands in shining Beauty. Others, like puzzle pieces that have been half digested, call forth Resistance. ” For more about Rose, visit: Redbubble.com and Tiny Art Originals
